Cadillac Coup de Ville
This model name was used on a series of cars from 1949 to 1993. The one above was toward the end of the first generation [1949-1953]. On the front bumper, there are chrome road rockets. Tail lights were on a vertical fin, as Plato would have them. It is starting to bury itself, while being in outside storage in Lorain, Ohio.As I was motivatin' over the hill
I saw Maybellene in a Coup de Ville.
A Cadillac a-rollin' on the open road,
Nothin' outrun my V8 Ford.
The Cadillac doin' 'bout ninety-five,
We was bumper to bumper rollin' side to side.
—Chuck Berry, in 1955, using the tune of Ida Red
